Education and Experience

Graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor's Degree in biology.

Graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Earned Specialist Certification in Neurology from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specializations.

Completion of  LSVT Big movement therapy and LSVT Big for Life for people with Parkinson’s Disease.

Completion of the Emory Vestibular Competency course.

Liz’s professional experience as a neurologic physical therapist has been in both inpatient, home care, and outpatient rehabilitation settings in Syracuse NY, Washington, DC and Rockville, MD.

During these experiences she developed a passion for working with those with PD. She truly believes in the benefits for comprehensive education and exercise for those with PD to regain quality of life. 


Liz focuses on rehabilitation of individuals with a variety of neurological diagnoses and problems with balance and dizziness.  She participates in teaching several courses as an adjunct faculty member in the physical therapy program at SUNY Upstate. She is also a co-investigator in a clinical trial at SUNY Upstate studying the benefits of a community exercise group in those with Parkinson’s Disease.


In Liz’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her two children, husband, and pug.  Liz loves gardening, painting, yoga, and baking with her daughter.


Kaila McCarthy

Education and Experience

Graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor's Degree in speech and hearing science.

Graduated from The University of Rhode Island with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.

Certified in LSVT LOUD and LSVT Loud for Life for individuals with Parkinson's Disease.

 Currently works full time as a Senior level SLP at an outpatient rehabilitation hospital in Maryland where she runs a Loud for Life weekly exercise class.

Kaila has clinical experience treating disorders affecting speech/voice, language, cognition, and swallowing, across a variety of neurological diagnoses in both outpatient and acute inpatient rehabilitation settings.

 Received 3 ASHA ACE awards for continuing education.


In Kaila’s free time, when she is not traveling, she enjoys running, biking, and entertaining her new rescue puppy named Stella.

Cassie Lorie

Occupational Therapist

Education and Experience

Graduated from George Washington University with a degree in

psychology and counseling before deciding to pursue a career in

occupational therapy.

Graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University Master's degree

in Occupational Therapy.

Completion of  LSVT Big movement therapy for those with

Parkinson’s Disease.

Completion of Specialty Certification in Low Vision from the

American Occupational Therapy Association.

Completion of online course work from USC Life Management Series is Lifestyle Redesign (TM).

Cassie has been working as a therapist with adults and older adults in hospital, outpatient, and community settings since 2001.  In her current work, Cassie focuses on a holistic, community based approach to living well with chronic health conditions including Parkinson’s disease.

Cassie lives with her husband near Denver, Colorado. She is an avid swimmer and cyclist, knowing first hand the power of exercise in maintaining personal health.
